"Bible in [Hamilton County] Schools"

The schools are reviewing their “Bible in the Schools” program. This is a privately-funded program which supports Bible-literacy programs in the public schools. The chair of the committee says that they will evaluate the educational quality of the classes rather than considering first-amendment issues.

Hamilton County folks may want to take some action regarding the Bible in Schools classes offered. The classes are being reviewed as a regular process for all subjects. If you have concerns about the classes or have experienced any questionable teaching, you can contact the chair of the review committee Ben Conner at <Connor_Ben@HCDE.org>

Did you see a crèche?

FFRF has been tracking efforts by religious organizations to stage a nativity scene in every state capital. If you see a nativity scene in Nashville, or elsewhere in Tennessee, on public land, please contact us at info@ffrf-etc.org . FFRF-national can provide an attractive "baby constitution" counter-nativity scene.

Help get 10 Commandments Stone Installation Removed

Van Buren County recently installed a 10 Commandments monument in front of their Justice Center. Notice the irony! FFRF would like to move forward with legal action against this violation of church/state separation. In order to do so, there must be a resident of Van Buren County willing to be the complainant. If you are, or if you know of a willing resident of Van Buren County, the contact address to alert FFRF of willingness to take part in litigation is: intake@ffrf.org. Only residents of Van Buren County have standing against this egregious action of religious privilege.
